2017 New Year Updates

With our sales consultant going on early Christmas holiday and most display homes and World of Style being closed mid December to early January, our year ended quietly and slowly and we didn't get a chance to do any colour browsing at WOS or visit displays again in the past weeks.

As soon as their office opened after the holidays, we received a call from World of Style to book us for colour selection for late January. Oh my, we were not ready and so I need to tell her to hold off and book us for later in February or early March. I was also hesitant to do the colour browse as our sales consultant has not finalised our first floor bedroom window sizes yet,  but my husband is starting a new job so he wants to get this appointment out of the way before he gets busy.

Double storey houses are allocated 2 days of colour selection which covers below:

Day 1

Electrical Design Selection 9am to 12pm
Brivis: 12pm to 12:30pm
Wardrobe Design Selection: 1pm to 1:30pm
Exterior and Interior Design Selection: 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Day 2

Window Furnishing Selection: 9am to 10am
Tile Selection: 10am to 1pm
Kitchen Design Selection: 1:30pm to 4:30pm

I was able to find an available schedule for our Day 1 which will be on 2nd of February, but all our available days were booked out for Day 2. We don't know my husband's roster yet in his new job and we won't know until he starts on the first week of February and so I requested them to keep our Day 2 appointment hanging for now.

With this impending selection, we visited Madison 40 in Sunbury which has Champagne France theme and again, Forsyth 38 in Tarneit last week to finalise our selection for carpet colour, timber flooring,  wall and wet flooring tiles, vanity basins, tap mixers and shower rails, cabinet handles and our electrical plans.

We got Building Coordinator now! I received an email from her yesterday from and she's also organising our colour selection for 2nd and 6th of February, tender appointment for 2nd of March and contract appointment on 23 March. which I also can't confirm yet (except for 2nd of Feb) until we get my husband's schedule. On a side note, I'm surprised that she's booking us for tender appointment. They've been saying in the forum and as confirmed by our sales consultant that Porter Davis does not allow tender appointment for Advantage range compared to their Lifestyle and Prestige ranges. This means that from colour selection the next stage is contract appointment already.

While I was reading her email, I was thinking that this is all going too quick and we haven't even finalised our bedroom windows yet and then I saw another email from our sales consultant. He updated that their drafting team will  advise us the biggest bedroom windows that we can have once our plans are done and we won't be charged for changes. I sent him a thank you email and to let him know also that we will not move the ensuite windows anymore to the wall adjacent to free standing bath and to remind him to check that we are not required eaves in the alfresco as part of the developer's requirements. This finalised the structural variations that we want and it's up to them to determine if we need the alfresco.

Looks like we'll have a busy schedule in the next few weeks and more exciting things are coming up soon! We'll schedule another visit to Forsyth in Cranbourne East and World of Style before our Day 1 colour selection appointment, maybe this Friday. I hope our remaining World of Style upgrades will not cost much!
